STEVE MASEK KEYBOARDS AND VOCALS Steve Masek has been in the Sultans since their inception. Classically trained in his early years, Steve left his classical studies in his teens, and began teaching himself blues, jazz, honkey-tonk, and rock. Finding inspiration in all styles, Steve has found a home in the improvisational realms that the Bing inhabit. As the principal songwriter for the band, Steve has found a perfect vehicle for his songwriting style. The versatility of the band and the immense space provided for each of the four players has allowed him to explore sounds that are unique and varied; and underneath it all is the classical sensibility instilled in him at a young age. Lyrically, Steve has always taken an intospective approach to writing, and his thoughtfulness is evident in his lyrics.
